Why I'm Running

Here's my perspective on the biggest challenges facing the Seekonk Public Schools and why I'm the right person for the job.

District Teases $1.9M in Budget Hikes: The 3 BIGGEST Cost Jumps

District administration rolled out a "level service budget" at the committee's Feb. 3 meeting. Basically, if we're to do everything the same next year as we're doing right now, how much more would that cost us?

How We'd Cut Costs and Spare More SPS Staff

Feb. 27, 2025

District Slashes $450K from Budget: What Got the Chop?

District administrators have ID'd approximately $450K in cuts — and we're nowhere near the Select Board's desired 2.5% budget increase. Got $850K? What We'll Lose if the Dept. of Ed Gets Gutted

March 20, 2025

Going after the DOE hurts both our kids AND our wallets. My running mate Bob Gerardi and I break down how the Trump administration's executive order takes away $850K annually in federal funding from our district, leaving Seekonk taxpayers in the lurch. We in Seekonk believe in the right to a public education. It's why people choose to live here, and why they've chosen it over and over again for their families, growing our town's population. Jeopardizing our funding streams for special education and low-income students isn't the answer.

Seekonk, We Have a Budget

March 25, 2025

School Committee has signed off on a $33.8M budget for the 2025-26 academic year. Who and what was cut, in addition to what staff cuts were suggested (but not implemented) are all laid out by my running mate Bob Gerardi and I. Can the Select Board stomach a 2.66% increase (and not the 2.5% which they prefer)? Or might there be another round of punishing cuts — especially if voters come out against the Tri-County debt exclusion? Bob and I share our thoughts.
